Hotel & Restaurant „Weltraumbahnhof Rautenkranz WBF1875“

Project description:

The old empty train station in the village of Rautenkranz, built 1875, has been completely redesigned and rebuilt in the Steampunk style. 6 individually themed rooms, here called cabins, transport the guests into a world, that could have been invented by Jules Verne. Industrial design meets Victorian time travellers with top hats, time travel passports and ruffled costumes. Slightly unusual installations, of which even their inventor doesn’t know exactly how they work, are crossing even the restaurant. In direct proximity to the old train station, which became the meanwhile renown “space train station” Rautenkranz, the German Space Exhibition museum is located, as well as a number of regional and transregional hiking tracks. Therefore the hotel and restaurant “Weltraumbahnhof Rautenkranz” is the perfect location for day trips, company, family and special events. Last but not least the WBF1875 is the center point of the meanwhile nationally known Time Travel Festival in Rautenkranz, always taking place at the beginning of October.

Scope of work:

Concept development, grant application, preliminary and final design development, execution and construction planning, procurement and contract management, site supervision.
